Great story, John... As a kid, my best days of the year ranked as follows. Christmas was right up there. The last day of school was legendary. Easter wasn't bad either.

But nothing compared to that first spring morning where you didn't need to wear your buckle boots.

Tie up your 'Dash' gym sneakers nice and tight, sprint out the door feeling the gravel through the worn out rubber soles. The whole world felt more light and simple. On the homestretch to summer.

Thanks, my man. Saturday mornings were also great too right?

Many of life’s milestones are only recognizable in hindsight. Well done for you to be aware and be able to give an event its due, as it was happening. And as always, well captured. Thanks for the detour.

That hit home. Speaking of home, enjoy your new home wherever that may be.

Thank you for the momentary return to my own elementary days at Central Armdale in Fairview! The feeling that the summer was forever!! And then feeling sad because I knew I'd miss the teachers I inevitably grew to like. 🙂

Thanks Louise. It’s kind of a universal thing isn’t it?

Love this John! You definitely brought back some sweet memories with this piece. Lisa's watercolor is the icing on the cake.
